You want me to do what???!!!

This is what I keep asking God. I feel so much like Moses when he found out what God wanted him to do. If I may remind you, I am a nurse. God is using my nursing skills to further His kingdom through our medical outreaches but He is also calling me to do other things in which I don’t feel equipped or capable of doing. For example, I am the project manager for a church planting project in the Toul Sangke area. Recently, I had to write the vision and project plan for this church plant. For those of you who know me well, this was a very difficult task. I have no background in this area and no knowledge from which to draw upon. I had to pray and ask the Lord to help me with this. I had a church planter mentor who was guiding me through this but the responsibility still rested on my shoulders. I almost drowned under the weight of it all. However, through all this, I had to depend on God. It turned out to be a wonderful experience of dependency on God. This seems to be the theme of my life lately. Dependency on God. I was sick and had to return to the states and trust the Lord with the situation. I was dependent on Him to make me better if He wanted me back on the field. Thankfully, I was able to return in August. I am dependent on the Lord as I think through this church plant project. God has provided me with two team members which help with this work. Since we are at the beginning stages, we are doing a lot of relational building. I am depending on the Lord to help me with my Khmer so I can communicate with the people in order to build these relationships. We are also seeing ways in which we can serve our community. So we are offering English and Bible classes to children five days a week for one hour and teaching English and computer to factory workers every weekend for two hours. I am depending on the Lord as I teach English classes to the factory workers. I am also dependent on the Lord to save His people. We hope to begin Bible studies with the people we minister to in Jan. 2012 and I am trusting the Lord to give them eyes to see and ears to hear the gospel. Please pray with me during this time of dependency. Pray that it will never end but that I will always live a life dependent on Him. “Prayer is not so much an act as it is an attitude—an attitude of dependency, dependency on God.” –Arthur Pink

Relational Update:

I will have a new roommate beginning at the end of Nov. Her name is Naomi and she is from England. My team members have been praying for someone to come and live with me and I told them it would have to be someone special since ministry takes place in my house 7 days a week. It seems He has answered their prayers as she wants to come live with me in spite of the chaos. My team is grateful for this answer to prayer.

-Pray for God to provide a Khmer pastor for this church.
-Pray for the relational outreaches with the community. Pray they will see my love for them and ask why so I can tell them about Jesus.
